Hamsa Catch-all Dish
This catch-all features a Hamsa symbol screen printed in silver mica onto opaque Egyptian blue glass, paired with a wispy clear-white stripe, then fused in a kiln to about 1400 degrees. Glass is then cold worked, returned to the kiln to slump into final shape to about 1250 degrees.
The Hamsa hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet symbolizing the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign. It brings its owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.
This dish is screen printed, kiln formed glass, 4.5" square and about 1/4" thick, slumped into a sushi-style mold making it about 3/4" high at the corners. Catch-alls are great for tossing your coins and keys into, hold rings and earrings, candles, soap, make cute appetizer plates, great spoon rests and decorative accents. We recommend hand washing, though they can go in the dishwasher (we like the China cycle for glass).
